The Internet has become an integral part of our lives. The convenience afforded us by the Internet is simply amazing. Everything is on-line; banking, education, medicine, shopping, even our kids homework. However, wherever you find people and money, you find criminals. Identity Theft, Fraud, and On-line Crimes (Man-in-the-Middle, Replay, and Phishing Attacks) are more prevalent than ever. Cyber-criminals have become much more sophisticated, intelligent and greedy. Our defensive strategies not only need to be more sophisticated but they need to address the various channels of vulnerability inherent in Internet, Wireless and Mobile Applications. Recently, federal regulations forced financial institutions to enhance online account authentication. After extensive risk analysis, most institutions decided to comply with federal regulations and implement multi-factor authentication. Now, we find online access less convenient and security, well, that seems to be very questionable.
